SHOAL
SHOAL are a physical performance, new music, multimedia and experimental ensemble who specialise in creating immersive experiences. With a particular interest in improvisation and interdisciplinary collaboration, SHOAL work with a variety of artists to commission and develop new works experimenting with sound, electronics, digital technology, light, space and movement.
The SHOAL collective was first brought together to work with the Norwegian composer, Eyvind Gulbrandsen, on a commission by award-winning arts company Curated Place for performance at the Hull City of Culture Festival 2017. Further projects have included working with writer and director Gareth Mattey on a short film soundtrack for Channel 4, as well as a collaboration with composer MICHAELBRAILEY, featured in his concert series VIRTUALLYREALITY.
To date, SHOAL have been invited to perform at numerous new music & arts events, including The Noise Upstairs, New Music North West Festival, Decontamination and Bury Light Festival, collaborating and co-composing with artists such as Stephen Preston, Eleanor Culley and David Pocknee.
